Clothing of Early Modern Venetian Women
The clothing that the women of Venice wore during the Early Modern period does not just represent the fabric they wore on their backs. It symbolizes all the many aspects of Venice that encompass the fashion and construction of the garments. The way they wore their clothing is a fusion of certain conditions of Venice during this time, including the treatment of women, social groups of women, government laws, trade, and the silk industry.
